NBA 2K Online hits 19m registered users in China

Take-Two and Tencent collaboration NBA 2K Online has garnered 19m registered accounts in China.

Joystiq reports Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick revealed the milestone during the company’s most recent call with investors.

"Usage and player engagement with NBA 2K Online continued to gain momentum, and it’s now the number one PC online sports game in China with 19 million registered users,” Zelnick said.

The free-to-play basketball sim launched in October 2012 and features every licensed NBA team. The game represents one of Take-Two’s major pushes into the Asian market.

China-based developer Tencent is partnered on the title with Take-Two, the studio is also known for its work on Capcom’s Monster Hunter Online and EA’s FIFA Online 3.
