A boxed Collector’s Edition of indie hit The Banner Saga will be coming to UK retail on July 25th.
Sold Out Sales and Marketing Limited will offer the Viking-themed tactical role-playing game as a physical release for the first time.
A spin-off of the retail sales team at Mastertronic, Sold Out launched back in February before signing its former parent firm as its first publisher.
The company recently announced a partnership with Team 17 Digital Limited to bring the Worms creator’s digital games to retail.
The Banner Saga: Collector’s Edition will include the core game alongside its soundtrack, scored by Journey composer Austin Wintory, and the Insane Viking Pack, which was previously only available as an incentive to those who pre-ordered the game.
The Banner Saga was originally funded as a Kickstarter campaign, raising over seven times its $100,000 goal. The game saw some slight trouble following its release on Steam, when it was highlighted as one of 13 titles targeted by King as the Candy Crush Saga creator attempted to oppose the trademarking of game titles involving the word ‘saga’.
There are some games which demand permanent display – and The Banner Saga is unquestionably one of those,” said James Cato, sales director at Sold Out. This is the definitive version of the game – and the only way those who didn’t pre-order the digital version can experience the additional content.

The Banner Saga: The Collector’s Edition will be available on PC on July 25th, priced at 19.99.
