Gameforge appoints Tim Campbell to lead new divison

German studio Gameforge has appointed Tim Campbell to head up a new division meant to increase the company’s focus on the North American market.

Games Industryreports Campbell will lead Gameforge’s Games Division to streamline internal and external development. The studio currently owns AION and HEX: Shards of Fate intellectual properties, and has a publishing deal with Robot Entertainment as well for its title Orcs Must Die! Unchained.

"The free-to-play market has grown rapidly over the years – there are a lot of established studios and publishers who have recognised the advantages of the model and are now trying to gain a foothold in this sector," Campbell said.

"For us, this means we need to consistently make good use of our experience and transfer it to new markets and platforms. To do so, we have created a structure and environment in the Games Division where our talent can really bring their abilities to bear."

Campbell came aboard Gameforge in 2012, joining the executive team last year as VP of new products. His past experience includes stints at Sega, THQ, and Vigil Games.
