Arizona Sunshine may be "fastest-selling VR title" to date after making $1.4m in a month

Dutch studio Vertigo Games claims that its virtual reality title Arizona Sunshine is the fastest selling non-bundled PC VR title to date.”

In a statement shared with Upload VR, Vertigo and co-developer Jaywalkers Interactive announced that their Oculus Rift and HTC Vive shooter made $1.4m (1.1m) in sales between its launch date (December 6th) and January 5th.

Vertigo Games’ managing director Richard Stitselaar said: From what we can tell, it may be the fastest selling non-bundled PC VR title to date.” Arizona Sunshine set consumers back $40 in the US and 29.99 in the UK.

Of course, Arizona Sunshine is not the first VR game to meet success, as Owlchemy Labs’s Job Simulator hit $3m (2.4m) in sales earlier in January – but that was since its launch in April 2016. The title was the best-selling PSVR title of 2016 in the US.

As mentioned by Upload VR, Cloudhead’s The Gallery (which launched in April 2016 as well) and Survios’ Raw Data (released last July) also both hit $1m in sales. So by the looks of it Arizona Sunshine might indeed be the fastest selling non-bundled VR title to date.

Arizona Sunshine should launch on PSVR at a later point this year.
