The US’s trained killers have used radio, TV and the movies to convince kids to risk their lives for their country – so it was only a matter of time before they targeted interactive software.

America’s Army, an online war simulation developed by the US’s forces themselves, is an unashamed recruitment tool. The real life Army actually tracks gamers’ behaviour and approaches the ‘best players’ of the ultra-realistic experience.

Unsurprisingly, Ubisoft has come in for a fair bit of stick for publishing the console version of the title – including a fevered demonstration outside its offices this very month. French surrender monkeys our right foot.
