2017 Smite World Championships to take place at new Hi-Rez Expo

The 2017 Smite World Championships will take place between January 5th and January 8th at the new Hi-Rez Expo.

Located in the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, Georgia, the new event will replace the usual World Championships but will still play host to the PC and Xbox One World Championship tournaments. Joining these competitions will be the first ever Paladins invitational event that will feature the best teams from the Paladins beta, along with new announcements and gameplay across all of Hi-Rez’ titles. The event will see more than $1 million given away in prize money.

Tickets for the Hi-Rez Expo are on sale now, and priced at $99. Anyone that can’t attend the event in person but still wants in on the action will be able to purchase the digital loot box in game soon.

Earlier this year Epsilon eSports took home $500,000 after winning the 2016 PC World Championships. They comfortably beat Envy 3-0 in the final to cement themselves as the best Smite team in the world.
