360 version of Age of Conan sharpens blade

Age of Conan developer Funcom has moved to quash speculation that the long-awaited Xbox 360 version of its MMO adventure Age of Conan is no longer on the cards.

The firm’s Erling Ellingsen told Eurogamer: The Xbox 360 version is still very much set to happen and we are working on it. However, there are no dates set, even though we aim for a 2009 release. Our big priority now is, of course, the PC version and fixing the issues with it and improving it for our current players.”

Console MMOs have for ages been touted as the next big horizon for the genre, but with the exception of Xbox 360 efforts Final Fantasy XI and Phantasy Star Universe have failed to yet achieve any notable success.
