3DS price and date incoming

The Japanese arm of news agency Bloomberg is reporting that Nintendo will announce a price and release date for the 3DS on September 29th, a couple of weeks after the Tokyo Game Show.

The confirmation, spotted by VG247, apparently came via a phone conversation between Bloomberg and Nintendo spokesperson Hiroshi Minagawa.

It’s likely that the announcement will be specific to the Japanese market, though it’s possible that Nintendo will choose to announce its global rollout plans at that time.

UPDATE: Again, as spotted by VG247, it seems as if Bloomsberg has updated its story to say that Nintendo has also confirmed a launch for the machine in the current quarter, which would mean an arrival some time between now and October.
