Germany-based games firm Wooga has been struck by a series of layoffs that see 40 staff dismissed from the company.
The layoffs were part of an internal restructure,GamesIndustryreports, chipping away at the mobile firm’s previous headcount of 300 people. Following these job cuts, Wooga will now be formed from three studios: one for puzzle games, one for hidden object, and another for casual simulation. The latter is reportedly focusing on Apple Watch titles.
According to an official statement, the redundancies made were due to some of Wooga’s latest projects failing to meet the company’s expecations.
