58 jobs lost in Choices UK collapse

A total of 58 jobs have been lost following the Webb Group’s descent into administration, MCV can confirm.

One victim of the Group’s collapse is games retailer Choices UK, which had lived on as an online brand following its collapse as a High Street retailer in 2007.

Administrators BDO confirm that of the 58 jobs lost 15 redundancies have been made at Webb Group Limited, 35 at Webb Ivory (Burton) Limited, four at Choices UK Group Limited and four at Book Club Associates Limited.”

All Webb Group business have ceased trading and BDO is actively seeking a buyer for the company’s assets.

Unfortunately the economic climate and difficult trading conditions significantly affected the business,” BDO business restructuring partner Graham Newton stated.

The Joint Administrators are taking all necessary steps to mitigate losses to customers, creditors and stakeholders who are affected by the closure of these companies and, going forward, we will seek to maximise recoveries for the benefit of all creditors.”
