A Game Distribution is a big supporter of the open distribution model, which allows multiple firms to distribute the same product.
Operations director Adam Harris says this drives competition and provides a wider and better choice for consumers.
“Open distribution naturally develops competition, which in its own right sparks innovation and increases service offerings to customers – all of which we feel are positives for the industry,” he says.
“The model works and is tried and tested across much of Europe as well as North America and Asia.
“On the other hand, the benefits of exclusive distribution come with supported marketing and offers, but this is currently looking very unattractive compared to the low ticket prices being waved by supermarkets in the UK.”
