The heroes in a half shell are heading back to your consoles.

Activision has agreed a multi-year deal with Nickelodeon to produce three games based on the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IP, the first of which will be released this summer.

The publisher now has the global rights to produce interactive games based on the pizza-loving foursome.

Leo, Donnie, Raph and Mikey (or Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo in old money) made their return to the screens in October of last year in a new CGI series on Nickelodeon.

“The fans of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are unique in that they span generations and are very passionate,” Activision Publishing VP Kurt Niederloh stated.

“We respect this passion and look forward to working with Nickelodeon to create games that embody the spirit of the property.”

Nickelodeon’s consumer products senior VP Sherice Torres added: “Activision is a leader in the gaming industry and we are honored to have them as the global video game partner for our new hit series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. We are confident that these upcoming games will take gamers through interactive environments and action-packed adventures that truly capture the essence, tone and exciting elements of the Turtles.”

Cowabunga! Oh, no, they changed that to Booyakasha. So we’re told.
