Amazon brings Black Friday to UK

The UK arm of retailer Amazon has announced that it will be bringing one of America’s biggest shopping holidays to Amazon.co.uk.
Black Friday is the name given to the day after Thanksgiving, as is traditionally seen as the beginning of the Christmas spending period in the US. This year it will take place on Friday November 26th.

The activity will kick off on Monday November 22nd with new deals announced throughout the course of the week.

Amazon.com offers some unbelievable deals throughout Thanksgiving week and on Black Friday, and this year, we wanted to do the same,” the site reads.

We’re bringing Black Friday Deals Week to the Amazon.co.uk website, so our customers will be able to take advantage of some unbelievable deals throughout the week.”

VG247 reckons that this year will see 60 per cent offered on Wii and Xbox 360 hardware and half-price Sony TVs. The sales will be on a limited basis so expect deals to vanish quickly.
