Amazon to deliver Doom at midnight

Amazon Prime will be delivering copies of Doom at midnight on Thursday.

In order to benefit from this offer, fans of Bethesda’s FPS will have to place an order using the Prime Now app from 10pm to 11.45pm on Thursday (May 12th).

The move will help Amazon compete with digital download networks such as PSN, Xbox Live and Steam, where the game will also be available to download at midnight.

Only selected postcodes in London, Surrey, Berkshire, Birmingham,Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Newcastle, Portsmouth and surrounding areas will be eligible to receive the game, which will be delivered between midnight and 2am, while slots remain available.

In addition to Doom, Amazon will also allow players to order crisps, drinks and even pizzas.

Jason Weston, director of Amazon Prime Now in the UK, said: It’s been well over a decade since the last big Doom release and we want to make sure local fans get their hands on the latest edition of the game in super quick time with our midnight deliveries so they can head into single and multiplayer battles with fellow Doom fans across the globe as soon as the game is available.

He added: Gamers can also take advantage of the food and drink products available for delivery using Prime Now and receive their copy of the game with crisps, soft drinks and more to help them tackle the latest installment of the iconic game.”
