Amnesia strikes Daily Mail on MW2?

They take with one hand, and give with the other… The Daily Mail has now done a bit of a U-turn on its anti-Modern Warfare 2 stance.

While the previous story linked to earlier today pointed fingers at MW2’s violent content, the tabloid’s latest article about the game says it will ‘smash videogame sales record’.

Old news, of course – we’ve pointed out the massive retail hype for the new Call of Duty numerous times before.

"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is set to become the fastest selling videogame of all time, according to industry experts," the newspaper says.

"More than 2.4million pre-orders have been placed in the U.S for the battle game from Activision Blizzard Inc – the highest in the publisher’s history."

It’s far cry from trying to spark outrage this weekend over a level where players are asked to pose as a terrorist.

The Daily Mail also goes on to refer to the game as role-playing title – but, hey, you can’t have everything.
