Anarchy Reigns stumbles as Vita sales half

Platinum Games’ Anarchy Reigns managed only eighth place in its first week in the Japanese software charts.

It sold 21,199 units on PS3 and an additional 4,170 on Xbox 360, Andriasang reports.

Interestingly, Western-made debutant Ghost Recon: Future Soldier faired better, claiming seventh place with sales of 23,021 units.

Pokemon Black & White 2 continues to rule the software roost, however, with weekly sales of 181,756 and life-to-date sales of 2,217,227 units.

Sega announced last month that it had delayed the Western release of Anarchy Reigns until Q1 2013 – much to the irritation of the title’s developer.

On the hardware front 3DS continues to dominate the market, although its sales fell 14k week-on-week to 51,930.

After a recent resurgence in the territory, Vita sales are once again on the decline falling 50 per cent to just 11,544. PS3 unit sales reached 14,297.
