Significant gaming force Apple has announced that it's sector-bossing App Store has now passed the 15bn download milestone worldwide.
That's spread across over 425,000 apps. There are now over 200m iPhone, iPad and iPod in circulation across the globe with the devices officially available in 90 countries.
Developers have grossed over $2.5bn from app sales.
“In just three years, the revolutionary App Store has grown to become the most exciting and successful software marketplace the world has ever seen,” Apple’s senior VP of worldwide product marketing Philip Schiller stated.
“Thank you to all of our amazing developers who have filled it with over 425,000 of the coolest apps and to our over 200m iOS users for surpassing 15bn downloads.”

Are their any more specifics available such as the percentage of games in that 15bn?
Also it would be intresting to see how well the higher priced games (over 69p) sell as I have been very impressed by the quality of some recent higher priced "proper" games.
