Apple closes jailbreak loophole with new iOS update

Up iOS update that closes a lockscreen security loophole has also put a stop to a popular iPhone jailbreak.

Gizmodo reports that update 6.1 has killed the exploits used by the Evasi0n jailbreak – a hassle free method of freeing iPhones and iPads from Apple’s closed-wall operating system.

Users who update their jailbroken handset to 6.1 will find that their modifications will have vanished after reboot. Gizmodo speculates that it could be a fair while until iOS is cracked again.

In today’s day an age of Android smartphones, however, the hunger to crack iPhones and iPads has lessened with the community instead shifting to Google’s far more open platform.
