A new Assassin’s Creed game – titled Brotherhood – has been announced by Ubisoft following a leaked image of the game’s retail placeholder art appearing online.
Kotaku was allegedly sent pre-order materials from US retailer GameStop featuring Assassin’s Creed II’s protagonist Ezio and the text “available fall 2010”.
A spokesperson for Ubisoft told the site: “Ubisoft confirms the authenticity of this image and will provide more information next week.”
The news follows a website registration for assassinscreedbrotherhood.com which was made by the French publisher two weeks ago, as reported by Superannuation.
Ubisoft also previously confirmed a third Assassin’s Creed would be released during its current financial year.
It’s good news for the publisher and consumers, as Assassin’s Creed II has sold over 6m units globally since its release last November.
