Australian Game Informer sales up 42%

Citrus Media, publisher of the Australian Game Informer, has released the ABC audit figures for the first half of 2011, showing a marked increase in sales.

Game Informer is now selling an average of 39,196 copies per month in Australia and 2,128 in New Zealand, based on January to June this year.

This represents a 72% increase year-on-year and a 42% increase from last half of last year. The figures now make Game Informer the top-selling videogame or technology magazine in the region.

Jim Flynn, publisher of Game Informer, said: "When we launched the magazine, we told our partners and advertisers we were going to hit 40'000 sales within a couple of years. Here we are on issue 20 and I'm ecstatic that we've achieved that."

Chris Stead, Australian editor, said: "I strongly believe that good, consistent content is enough to not only make print success, but thrive in today's market."

"It's my goal to continue to amaze our readers with each and every issue and today's results give me great confidence that the Australian and New Zealand gamers are responding."

Game Informer's 21st issue hits newsstands on 17th August, and reveals Borderlands 2 to the world.

Game Informer is available for AUD$4.95 at newsagents, EB Games stores and some Coles supermarkets.
