Beyond Good and Evil 2 is an NX exclusive, rumour claims

Ubisoft might be on the verge of forgetting the recent sales flops that were its Wii U exclusives by making one of its most anticipated titles a Nintendo NX only release.

Destructoid reports that Nintendo has apparently agreed to fund the game’s development in exchange for exclusivity, in much the same way as it did with Platinum Games’ Bayonetta 2.

The working title is said to be Beyond Good and Evil: The Prejudices of Philosophers.

The source of the claim is Alexander Maier, who has previously accurately leaked Nintendo and Microsoft information. The site says that it has also verified some of Maier’s claims with another source, adding potential validity to the BGAE2 rumours.

BGAE2 was first announced way back in 2008. Since then virtually nothing has been seen of it, aside from repeated assurances from all involved that the game very much remain in development. It was claimed last year – one again – that it had been abandoned.

Ubisoft has been vocal about its disappointment with the sales of its titles on Wii U, with Zombi U in particular falling far short of expectations. However, if Nintendo is willing to foot the development bill then the publisher has nothing to lose.
