BioWare reveals fan-created female Shepard

Following a lengthy voting process, BioWare has revealed the design of the female Commander Shepard that will from some editions of Mass Effect 3.

The lovely lady was selected via a consultation process with fans.

It should be noted, of course, that the vast majority of Mass Effect’s fan-base are male – a delicious irony considering they were the ones enlisted to select which type of female Shepard is best suited to be the girl-appeasing face of the franchise.

The final Ms Shepard is a redhead and, quite frankly, really hot. She’s drawn by concept artist Patryk Olejniczak.

She will adorn the front cover of the Mass Effect 3: Collector’s Edition SKU, marking the first time in the series that male Shepard has not been granted the solo spotlight.

Mass Effect 3 will hit Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in Q1 2012.
