Black Ops DLC dated on PS3

Having arrived on Xbox 360 on February 1st, Call of Duty: Black Ops’ first DLC release First Strike will hit PS3 on March.

The reason for the delay is the deal struck between Microsoft and Activision last year that will see all Call of Duty DLC enjoy a period of timed exclusivity on Xbox 360 until 2012.

The publisher also revealed that First Strike set new records on Microsoft’s console, clocking over 1.4m downloads in its first 24 hours.

It’s perhaps not surprising then that Activision said – amongst other things – as part of its financial report last night that it will be releasing more DLC for Black Ops than it did Modern Warfare 2.

Still, the content may be lucky to match such numbers on PS3 where players are still complaining about connection problems with the multiplayer part of the game.

The PC release of First Strike has not yet been settled, though Activision assured gamers it will arrive before March 31st.
