Raven Software has apparently renewed development on its previously-rumoured James Bond title.
Major 007 fan site MI6 reports that a financial rescue plan for MGM has prompted Activision to give the game the green light again, having put the project on hold earlier this year.
The game was hinted at back in May when it was revealed that the studio would be shifting its focus to work on map packs for Call of Duty. While no details have been officially confirmed, reports suggest it will be a stealth-based outing.
Whether the new Bond adventure is connected to the 23rd entry in the film series – now slated for a November 2012 release – also remains a mystery.
Raven has produced a wide range of past Activision titles, from movie tie-ins such as X-Men Origins: Wolverine to last year’s reboot of the Wolfenstein franchise.
Last month, Activision released two James Bond titles. While the Wii-exclusive GoldenEye 007 performed reasonably well, the multi-format 007: Blood Stone struggled to meet critical and commercial expectations. Its developer, Bizarre Creations, was closed down shortly after.
