Capcom forecasts 1.2m Dead Rising 3 sales

Dead Rising 3 will sell over 1.2 million copies on Xbox One, says Capcom.

The publisher revealed the figures in its latest financial document, which also detailed the Japanese firm’s report for the first half of the financial year ending 31st March 2014.

The expectations fall short of previous entries in the series. The original Dead Rising on Xbox sold over 1.8 million copies, whilst multi-platform sequel Dead Rising 2 achieved 2.7 million units. Hpwever, this is just a single platform release at the launch of a console.

The publisher also confirmed its expectations for a number of its other titles, including 3DS title Monster Hunter 4, which the company anticipates will shift over 3.3 million copies by the end of the financial year.

Both Resident Evil Revelations Unveiled Edition and Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen met expectations, selling one million and 650,000 units respectively.

However, shooter Lost Planet 3 fell short of its expectations, shifting just 300,000 copies worldwide.
