Child of Eden will speak to core

With Microsoft sending out mixed messages about the potential hardcore appeal of Kinect, Ubisoft has claimed that one of its first Kinect titles will really speak” to the core Xbox 360 audience.

Last month Microsoft said that it’s developing controller-based games for the core and Kinect titles that appeal to everyone”, only to add a few days later that hardcore gamers will be the first to go out and buy it”.

Now Ubisoft’s MD Rob Cooper has said that Child of Eden, which is being developed by Tetsuya Mizuguchi’s Q Entertainment and is being called the spiritual successor to Rez, can unite the core and Kinect.

I think that Child of Eden will be one of the few Kinect titles at launch that will really speak to a core video game audience,” he told MCV.

It’s an original, creative and innovative gameplay experience. Our marketing teams will be working hard to ensure that the game is on the radar of Kinect early adopters. It got some really wonderful feedback after we announced it.”
