COUNTDOWN TO LONDON GAMES CONFERENCE: Digital to dominate by 2015

Digital sales will overtake boxed product sales by 2015, according to new industry-wide survey.

The conclusion came form a panel of 1,000 industry experts quizzed by London Games Conference.

16 per cent believe that sea change could occur as early as the next 12 months. 39 per cent predict it will happen by 2013 and 76 per cent by 2015. However, 66 per cent reckon High Street retail will always play a role in the sector.

The topic is just one of the talking points at this week’s London Games Conference, which takes place on Thursday, November 10th – the event looks at the evolution of the games market and will also examine retail, digital distribution, smartphone gaming, free to play games, plus DRM and security.
