Namco Bandai’s rock hard RPG Dark Souls has reached 1.5m shipments worldwide in just over one month.
Andriasang reports that more copies of the game have been shipped to retailers in Europe than its home country Japan, with 470,000 shipped in the former and 370,000 the latter.
40,000 units have been shipped in Asia and 620,000 in North America since release.
Developer From Software published the game on PS3 only in Japan, whereas Namco Bandai published it for both PS3 and Xbox 360 in Europe, Asia and North America.
Dark Souls is the spiritual successor to Demon’s Souls – the surprise hit PS3 RPG that received widespread acclaim from the games media. Both games have a Metacritic score of 89.
Dark Souls went on sale in the UK on October 7th. In Japan it hit shelves on September 22nd, North America October 4th and Asia October 18th.
