Departing creator Dean Hall says the team working on DayZ is to double.

Hall broke the news via the latest DayZ update, which also promised a roadmap for the studio's plans for the game would arrive later in 2014.

"We are inducting a large number of new people to the team, effectively doubling the whole project," wrote Hall in the update.

The update details a new cooking system to be implemented into the game as part of the team's greater focus on the survival aspects of the game. It also promises a wave of bug fixes and minor additions, such as new character animations.

The update follows Hall's announcement last week that he would be leaving Bohemia Interactive at the end of 2014.

Hall plans to return to his native New Zealand, where he will set up a new studio to begin work on a new multiplayer project.

However, he admitted he would never completely walk away from DayZ, admitting he'll "always be involved" with the game.
