Duke Nukem Forever due May

Duke Nukem Forever will be released on May 6th in the UK.

The long-awaited FPS will arrive on the High Street three days after its US debut on May 3rd. Its release marks the end of the longest development time in the history of video games.

Work began on Duke Nukem Forever way back in 1997. The game was originally being developed by Duke’s creators at 3D Realms, but it was announced in September that work has been handed over to Brothers in Arms and Borderlands studio Gearbox.

The moment fans all over the world have been waiting for is almost here,” said 2K president Christoph Hartmann.

May 2011 marks the Duke’s return as he unleashes his brash and brutally honest wit on the world. His return is going to be epic and one that will make video gaming history.”

Once again Duke Nukem must save the world and protect women from aliens. The FPS boasts new weapons and comedy actions from The Duke including drawing rude shapes on whiteboards and reading adult magazines.

Owners of the Borderlands Game of the Year edition will be able to play a demo of Duke Nukem Forever first.
