EA charge to transfer songs to Rock Band 2

Those looking forward to Rock Band 2 have been told that they will be able to transfer tracks from the first game for use with the sequel – albeit for a price.

Xbox 360 owners will be charged 400 Microsoft points (around 3.50) to move 55 of Rock Band’s 59-track playlist for use with the second game. Licensing restrictions mean that Metallica’s Enter Sandman, Tokio Hotel’s Through the Monsoon, Black Sabbath’s Paranoid and Iron maiden’s Run to the Hills will not be transferable.

Developers Harmonix adds that any tracks downloaded for the first game should be compatible with the second.

Rock Band 2 is due out in the US this month, though no European release date has yet been confirmed – indeed, the PS3 version of the first game is still yet to arrive on European shores.
