Eurosport comes to 3DS

Nintendo has teamed up with the Eurosport Group to create 3D video content for its newest handheld.

A dedicated Eurosport video player application is now available free of charge from the Nintendo eShop. Once installed, the app automatically downloads the latest videos via SpotPass.

The initial wave of videos will be two to three-minute clips from popular Eurosport show WATTS, which takes a lighter look at the world of sport and features sporting outtakes.

"We are always striving to bring fun and exciting new content to our fans and this new partnership with Eurosport will do just that," said Nintendo of Europe’s marketing and PR managing director.

"We are looking forward to launching the WATTS videos each week along with a host of other 3D content on Nintendo Video from our various partners."

Eurosport’s global communications director Heather Bowler added: "The 3D clips from WATTS, one of Eurosport’s most established programmes, are guaranteed to engage and entertain Nintendo 3DS users.

"Eurosport and Nintendo are both leaders within their industries so there is a natural brand fit with the collaboration, which will extend our reach within an important target audience."

Nintendo also has partnerships with Aardman Animations, the Berliner Philharmoniker Orchestra and Red Bull Media House to provide content for its own Nintendo Video app.
