Codemasters announced F1 2013 today and revealed the new F1 Classics mode that will see iconic cars and racing legends from the 80s and 90s grace this year’s game.

As the official Formula 1 game, F1 2013 will feature all the new cars, drivers and regulations from the current season, as well as other yet unannounced features and modes, but the Classics mode is the biggest new addition to the game.

Players will have access to 1980s F1 cars from Williams, Lotus and Ferrari, and will be able to go up against greats like Mario Andretti, Nigel Mansell, Emerson Fittipaldi, and Gerhard Berger, around classic circuits like Brands Hatch and Jerez.

Codemasters will also release the F1 2013: Classics Edition, which will include two extra content packs that will bring content from the 90s, such as Williams and Ferrari cars, and star drivers like David Coulthard, Jacques Villeneuve, Eddie Irvine and Alain Prost. The Classics Edition will also include additional circuits that will be playable in all game modes.

Standard Edition owners will be able to buy these two content packs shortly after launch.
