Asda's online customers can pre-order the FIFA 12 special edition for £35 later today, MCV can reveal.
That's £25 off the EA game's RRP.
This offer will not be repeated in stores and marks the arrival of the grocer's in-house entertainment site. The Hut Group has previously handled the retailer's entertainment website.
All customers who pre-ordered the game at its current price (£41.97) will be refunded the difference.
More offers are expected in the build up to Christmas. You can visit the website here.
The FIFA 12 Special Edition includes the full game plus 18 Gold Packs (three packs for six months) to enable them to build their FIFA 12 Ultimate Team. The Packs consists of players rated 75 or above and includes one rare item.
"This is an online only offer and we expect it to sell out," Asda's head of online for music, video and games Frazer Locke told MCV.
"We have now migrated away from The Hut. They've been very good and supportive. But now we are in charge of our own destiny."
The new Asda website now offers price parity (if not cheaper) with their stores and will be marketed in a variety of ways. A new contact centre and online MVG team has been formed following the deal.
