FIFA Superstars arrives on Chelsea website

FIFA Superstars today went live on Chelsea Football Club’s official website, and Playfish has similar tie-ins lined up with at least eight other Premier League teams.

The game was launched just before the World Cup and currently has 700,000 daily average users. Playfish is hoping to grow the audience "significantly" by making Superstars available within the sites of Chelsea and other big name clubs.

Playfish Europe Studios’ general manager John Earner told MCV: "Basically, Facebook Connect will allow every person who visits the Chelsea website to play our game through a single click.

"In theory this should be a big part of the future of social gaming. Increasingly, the viral sources on Facebook are drying up, so we’re all in the business of looking for new sources of distribution, and in the case of FIFA, what better than 3-5m monthly uniques that are already interested in football.

"We can’t announce the exact teams just now, but we already have deals in place with eight-to-ten more Premier League clubs – and that’s just the beginning."
