Flight Control and Dead Space among 23 mobile games killed by EA

One of the App Store’s earliest success stories is among a list of older smartphone games being killed by publisher EA.

Included on the list is the multi-million selling Flight Control, which back in 2009 sold 700k copies in under two months on sale – an especially notable achievement considering Apple’s portal was then in its infancy.

Also in line for a withdrawal is Firemint’s pioneering Real Racing, Dead Space, Mass Effect Infiltrator, Need for Speed Shift, Spore, Bejewled 2 and Burnout Crash.

On September 1st we will be removing some of our older mobile titles from the mobile app stores. We will not be supporting or updating these games going forward,” EA said. We are focusing our efforts on developing new and exciting titles, as well as bringing new content and updates to existing popular games.”
