Having shot to the top of the top of the UKIE GfK Chart-Trak UK All Formats Top 40 this week, Sega’s Football Manager 2011 has also succeeded in claiming another significant sales victory.
According to Miles Jacobson, the boss of developer Sports Interactive, FM 2011’s first week sales were stronger than those enjoyed by Konami’s multi-format PES 2011.
While a big achievement for the PC management titles, it’s also indicative of the struggles being endured by Konami’s console series.
PES 2011 failed to knock FIFA 11 from the top of the UK charts upon its release at the beginning of October – the first time a new PES game has failed to claim the chart top spot since the series debuted in 2001.
It currently sits at 14th in the charts.
