Fox rules himself out of ITV race

There’s been some good news this morning for national entertainment retailer HMV with news that its chief executive Simon Fox has seemingly ruled himself out of the running for the vacant top job at struggling UK broadcaster ITV.

Talk emerged at the end of last month that Fox was the surprise favourite for the ITV job, causing a dip in HMV’s share value.

However, MusicWeek now reports that Fox has ruled out a possible move, leaving the door open for either Apple’s European boss Pascal Cagni or former Sky chief executive Tony Ball to assume the TV top job.
