GAME clarifies Motorstorm situation

Video games retailer GAME has issued a statement detailing the steps it is taking to enact Sony’s decision to postpone the release of PS3 racer Motorstorm Apocalypse, which was due out in the UK this Friday.

To stop money being taken from the accounts of customers who had pre-ordered the title online, GAME has cancelled the order process. However, this also means that these orders have been lost.

The retailer is urging those who wish to keep their pre-orders active until a new release date is announced to place a new order online.

GAME has also warned that some Gameplay.co.uk customers may yet still receive the game through the post on Friday, though it is trying to retrieve as many of these orders as it can.

Following Sony’s statement today, we are rapidly changing our launch plans for Motorstorm Apocalypse and are in the process of removing as much promotional material in our stores and online as possible," a statement read.

"We will continue to work closely with Sony on any further developments with this title. Our thoughts are with the people of Japan at this difficult time.”
