Game Room runs out of credits

Just a month on from its official launch on Xbox Live, Microsoft’s retro arcade games service Game Room has seen an indefinite freeze put on the addition of new content.

The latest batch of Game Room content has also been delayed until further notice,” Xbox Live European Editor Dan Maher said on Twitter. I’ll let you know once a new date is confirmed.”

Further to the statement, Microsoft’s community guru Larry Hryb told Kotaku: We’re working to bring you additional Game Room titles as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience, and we’ve been thrilled by the community response so far. We want to provide you with the best experience possible, so stay tuned.”

It’s not been the best of launches for Game Room, which offers a range of older arcade titles presented in a virtual recreation of an arcade in which gamers are free to roam about. Games can either be bought outright or via a pay-per-credit system.

On day one it was blighted with a bug that saw a number of titles crash on the loading screen. Earlier this month its developer, Krome Studios, was forced to lay off a number of staff.
