GAME taking Xbox 360 Slim orders

Leading UK video games retailer GAME has begun taking pre-orders for the Xbox 360 Slim – or as it is officially called, the Xbox 360 250GB.

As has been predicted, the machine will cost 199.99. For your money you get a redesigned console incorporating a removable 250GB hard drive (that’s of a different design to current units).

Also included is an in-built 802.11n wi-fi receiver that’s compatible with the latest generation of Wirelss-N routers.

The new device also houses five USB ports and touch-sensitive power and eject buttons. Inside the box you’ll find a black joypad, black Xbox Live headset and composite cables – no HDMI, sadly.

There’s no sign on the GAME website of any discounts to current Xbox 360 stock, however.

Customers are also able to pay 10 to secure their place in the pre-order queue for the Kinect motion camera. There’s no sign of an official RRP for that yet, though don’t expect anything south of 100 – and don’t be surprised if the final price is far beyond that.
