Games industry choir to perform at MCV Awards

After a successful debut at Christmas, the Games OnSong choir will return.

The troupe will take to the stage at April 18th’s MCV Awards for the GamesAid Tenor – the night’s fundraising drive for the UK games industry charity.

Led by IGN’s Ian Chambers, the choir performed their first charity concert in December, raising 12,500. The singers are games industry professionals of all levels.

The industry feedback from the Christmas concert was incredible,” said Chambers, who by day is VP and MD of International at IGN. In 2013 we want to grow the choir further, so when we were asked to perform at the MCV Awards we jumped at the chance.”

The idea of an ongoing games industry choir, raising cash for GamesAid is fantastic,” added MCV publisher Stuart Dinsey.

They did such a great job at Christmas, we had to book them for the MCV Awards. People are already used to the ‘GamesAid Tenner’ initiative which gains donations at the MCV Awards, Develop Awards and Future’s Golden Joysticks, so ‘GamesAid Tenor’ is a natural step this year.”

The MCV Awards take place at the Royal Lancaster London Hotel. To buy a ticket, contact Kathryn.Humphrey@intentmedia.co.uk or call her on 01992 535 646.
