GameStick ships out to developers next week

GameStick creator PlayJam has revealed dev kits for its portable Android console will start shipping next week, when the hardware will be making its first public appearance at GDC 2013.

An update to the GameStick Kickstarter page shows a photo of the pre-production prototype being sent to devs, as well as an intricate mockup of the console’s controller (pictured).

PlayJam states that over 500 developers, including "many great indies and a number of major publishers," are in line to receive kits. The software kit will support C++, Java, Marmalade and Unity on day one, and will be out for developers ahead of the hardware.

The company also teased it has a number of announcements” planned during its showing at GDC next week, adding that several companies worldwide have expressed interest in carrying the console at retail – including major distributors in the US, Europe, Australia, China, Africa, and Scandanavia.
