GameTail derailed

Having hit the headlines earlier this month thanks to an ambitious launch that involved selling key titles such as Halo reach for heavily discounted prices, online retailer GameTail has been forced to refund orders and cancel its full launch until 2011.

Citing a dispute with PayPal, GameTail has already refunded all orders that were placed for Dead Rising 2 and Guitar Hero 6, both of which were due to be shipped last week.

In addition, pre-orders for WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2011 have been cancelled. All other dates to order have been processed and shipped.

Our customer services staff will continue to handle tickets, telephone calls and live chats via the existing methods of contact found on this page,” director Adam Harris said in an official statement. We appreciate your patience whilst we handle your queries.

To this effect, and in the interest and respect of our customers, we have now postponed the launch of gametail.com until the New Year and look forward to welcoming our valued customers back soon.”

Serious question marks now hang over the site’s grand plans for European expansion. Harris told MCV earlier this month that: We hope to break into five key European markets within the first 18 months: UK, France, Germany, Netherlands and Spain.

To support this the website will be launching in multiple languages and accepting payments in both pounds and Euros.”
