Gift vouchers and store credit not being accepted at HMV this morning

It was the one question we were asked more than any other last night – will customers be able to spend their gift vouchers and store credit in HMV today?

And the answer, sadly, is no.

Administrators have confirmed this morning that consumers will not be able to use gift vouchers or spend store credit in stores as of today. Nor will it be selling any additional gift cards or vouchers.

This, of course, follows last night’s tragic news that HMV is to enter administration, putting over 4,000 jobs at risk. Stores will remain trading for the time being as Deloitte begins its search for a buyer.
