Gioteck doubles market share

The accessories market has a new leader in the form of Gioteck.

The company doubled its market share last month and became the No.1 third-party peripherals brand in terms of unit sales, according to GfK Chart-Track.

Gioteck achieved year-on-year growth of 19.2 per cent in terms of January unit sales – all based on the performance of 12 products, including controllers, headsets, and more.

The publisher saw particular success with its Bluetooth devices, claiming 50 per cent of the third-party Bluetooth market and even outselling Sony’s official PS3 headset last month. In total, Gioteck seized 34 per cent of the PS3 headset space – trumping Sony’s 29 per cent.

2010 was about getting us to number one,” said Gioteck’s creative director Andy Green.

We have the experience to know that it’s now when the hard work really needs to start.

With our plans to expand the product range plus other exciting developments, you will be hearing from Gioteck a lot this year.”

The company has more products on the way in 2011, including the DualFuel Ammo Box – a large container that simultaneously stores and charges up to two Xbox
360 controllers.
