Gree offers redundancy to 11% of workforce

Social gaming powerhouse Gree has revealed plans to offload 11 per cent of its 1,762-person strong global workforce.

A translation from social games consultant Serkan Toto revealed that the company is to offer 200 voluntary redundancies, with applications being accepted between October 9th-28th.

These losses will be in addition to the 30 jobs endangered as part of the closure of it Osaka office earlier this week, during which workers were asked to either retire or relocate to Tokyo. The Osaka base was opened in 2012.

The changes follow the 65 per cent drop in profits and 18 per cent decline in revenues reported by the company earlier this year, much of which stemmed from the cancellation of in-development titles.
