GTAIII will be released for legacy iOS devices

Rockstar has confirmed that it does in fact intend to release Grand Theft Auto III on older, single-core iPhone and iPads.

Last week MCV reported that as part of the game’s ten-year anniversary developer Rockstar was to release it on select iOS and Android devices – namely, those with a dual-core CPU architecture.

For Apple fans that means the iPhone 4S and iPad 2, but not earlier iPhone and iPad handsets.

However, a studio rep told Kotaku that it fully intends to bring the game to single-core iOS devices in the future”.
