A digital games store had been launched on HMV.com just weeks before the chain fell into administration.
Located under a new ‘games downloads’ tab on the retailer’s homepage, the catalogue is run by Eurogamer-owned GetGames.
Prices are reasonably standard although a few deals can be found, such as Far Cry 1+2 for £4.99 and Civilization IV or Rage for £6.99.
As is the case with many retailer’s digital offers, the selection is limited to PC and Mac games.
HMV already sells music MP3s via a partnership with 7digital and partners with FilmFlex for a movies-on-demand offering.
