IN BRIEF: What's Happened Today? (August 28th 2012)

So that claim from OnLive that Steve Perlman was to remain as CEO then? Yeah, that was a lie.

But he’s not the only boss out of the door – the bad news continues at shmup specialist Cave, whose CEO and president has also jumped ship. And let’s not even talk about the games retail on the UK High Street.

It’s not all bad news, though. Square Enix seems to be onto a winner with Sleeping Dogs, which saw off the challenges of both Darksiders II and Transformers: Fall of Cybertron to retain the top spot in the UK charts.

Speaking of Transformers, that was our Game of the Day last week, in case you missed it. Today the spotlight shifts to NCsoft’s new release Guild Wars II.
